Nomentia Cash Management January Product Updates

Connectivity & control: 199 new bank connections, usability improvements, and other updates

The latest Nomentia Cash Management 2025.01 introduces several key enhancements across various Nomentia cash management modules designed to improve connectivity, security, transparency, and flexibility. With the addition of 199 new bank connections, clearer sanctions screening, and improved liquidity management, users can now manage payments and treasury operations with greater efficiency and precision.

Let’s see what’s new and improved:

Expanded bank connectivity: 199 new connections added

We've added 199 new bank connections across SFTP, API, and EBICS, making it easier for businesses to connect with their banking partners. These new options give users more flexibility in choosing the most efficient and secure way to exchange payment and cash flow reporting data. With broader coverage, companies can improve reliability in transaction handling. Whether automating treasury operations, ensuring faster payment processing, or enhancing security, these additional connections help businesses work more efficiently with their banks.

"Expanding our bank connectivity means fewer workarounds and more seamless transactions. With these new connections, users can integrate with their banks more efficiently and securely, saving time and reducing complexity." – Markus Makkonen, Senior Product Manager for Platform

Better, more secure Payments

In Nomentia Cash Management 2025.01, we're introducing enhancements to the Payments, improving security, searchability, and flexibility in payment processing.

  • More precise approval controls: Approval processes now support stricter separation of duties with batch visibility restrictions. This allows multiple approval processes for the same payment types and companies while ensuring users only see relevant batches. It also keeps the Payments view clean for those not involved in specific approvals.
  • Expanded search functionality: Users can now search across multiple debtor bank accounts, making it easier to locate payments—even when the originating company is uncertain.
  • Improved monitoring of sensitive payments: If a bank rejects a payment, users can now access enough information to adjust and correct it while maintaining sensitive data protection.

"These updates are all about making payment processing more secure, efficient, and user-friendly. By refining approval workflows and search capabilities, we're reducing complexity for users while maintaining strong controls. At the same time, we've ensured that sensitive payments can be monitored appropriately without exposing unnecessary details." – Jukka Estola, Senior Product Manager for Payments & Sanctions Screening

Increased clarity for Sanctions Screening

We've improved the Sanctions Screening module to make it easier for users to understand and compare alert data against public sanctions lists. With clearer data presentation, users can quickly assess why a transaction or entity has been flagged, reducing confusion and improving decision-making. Streamlining the screening process helps compliance teams act faster and with greater confidence.

"Clarity is key in sanctions screening. With this update, we're making it easier for users to understand why an alert has been triggered and how it relates to public sanctions lists." – Jukka Estola, Senior Product Manager for Payments & Sanctions Screening

More customizable Liquidity

We've improved the usability of Nomentia Liquidity with a new level of customization. Users can now resize dashboard grids to fit their specific workflow, ensuring a more tailored and efficient experience. This update allows for greater flexibility in visualizing key liquidity metrics, optimizing screen space, and improving overall visibility and control over liquidity management operations. By giving users more control over their dashboard layout, we're making it easier to monitor and manage liquidity in a way that suits their needs.

"With these updates, our goal is to provide users with a liquidity management experience that adapts to their needs, not the other way around. With customizable dashboard grids, users can now tailor their workspace for greater efficiency and clarity, making it easier to focus on the insights that matter most." – Karl-Henrik Sundberg, Senior Product Manager for Liquidity.

Improved transparency in Matching

The 2025.01 release is particularly beneficial for businesses in situations where they need to track and reconcile open Accounts Receivable (AR) transactions that are waiting to be matched. For example, if a company has a large number of payments or invoices that haven't yet been matched in the system, the ability to export these open matching items to Excel allows users to:

  • Quickly identify and review pending transactions for further investigation or action.
  • Share the list with other teams (e.g., finance or accounting) for review or to follow up with customers.
  • Easily update or modify data in Excel to improve match accuracy or prioritize certain transactions.

This update improves transparency and helps businesses stay on top of their reconciliation processes, ensuring that no open AR transactions slip through the cracks.

Broader treasury loan management

The Loan Management has been enhanced with new reporting features and two new day count conventions, offering more flexibility and precision in managing and reporting loans.

"The addition of new day count conventions ensures more accurate interest calculations, making it easier to manage complex loan portfolios." – Perttu Maunu, Senior Product Manager for Treasury
